For more detailed information, please review the LBCC Bilingual Pay Incentive Administrative Policy Position Title: Facilities Coordinator, Athletics / Health & Human Performance Division/Department: Athletics Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:
Coordinates and oversees all facilities operations for the Activities Center and outdoor athletics spaces, including academics and athletics space preparation for various activities and events for both College and outside group events, equipment room services, and operations. Works collaboratively with the College Facilities Department on regular maintenance, repair, and replacement of facilities and equipment needs. Uses judgement and makes decisions to ensure all programmatic facility needs are met. Works with the Director of Athletics and Chair of Health/Human Performance to address all current needs and develop plans for anticipated future needs. Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of two years of full-time experience in the area of facilities management, physical education, recreation, and athletics or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in facilities and/or event management, preferably in a college environment. Must be thoroughly familiar with safety rules and procedures, in particular those relating to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards. Must be familiar with the proper use of MSDS and first aid procedures. Requires good organizational, planning, human relations, communication, and leadership skills.

Abilities: Requires the ability to independently perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively. Must be able to exercise good judgment, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills. Must be able to operate equipment of the position in a safe manner. Requires the ability to train and oversee students and part-time staff. Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. Must be able to prioritize and coordinate work to meet tight schedules and timelines. Must be able to communicate with a wide range of contacts in a manner that generates good public relations and reflects positively on the department and college. Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.

Licenses and Certificates: Requires a valid Oregon driver’s license and access to own transportation. Requires current first aid certificate or must obtain within six months of employment. Must complete bloodborne pathogen training. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with indoor and outdoor athletics and recreational facilities is preferred. A college degree and experience working in a college environment are preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Position involves periods of extended standing plus light to medium work including stooping, kneeling, and carrying and lifting of light to medium weight materials (10 to 50 pounds). Infrequently required to lift weights in excess of 50 pounds. Requires normal hand-eye and arm, hand, finger dexterity sufficient to operate power and hand tools. Requires good visual acuity. Work is performed both indoors and outside, giving some exposure to inclement weather. May have some exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, and fumes. Essential Duties:
Serves as the primary contact for coordination and oversight of all activities within the Activities Center and outdoor athletics facilities. Makes decisions and recommendations on scheduling of appropriate activities for all facilities and uses sound judgement to resolve conflicts based on established priorities, policies, and procedures. Ensures that all activities are scheduled and entered into the College Event Management System ( EMS ). Establishes and maintains accurate record-keeping system(s) for work requests, cleaning and maintenance schedules, as well as other projects in the Athletics/ HHP facilities. Prepares and administers budget needs for facilities operations and presents annually to Director of Athletics and Department Chair.

Prepares athletics facilities for College athletic contests and assists with facilities preparation needs for events hosted by other college departments or outside groups. Selects, hires, trains, and oversees events operational staff, including part-time and student staff. Ensures that all scheduled activities have a designated and trained event supervisor; may serve as event supervisor as needed. Serves as primary contact for all groups (on and off campus) inquiring and requesting use of facilities. Oversees Athletics Event Specialist to ensure all event needs and expectations are met.

Ensures classrooms, weight room, aerobics room, gym, and other spaces are prepared for classes or other scheduled activities, including proper routine cleaning and maintenance. Works with College Facilities department to ensure facilities are cleaned, maintained, and repaired as needed. Uses discretion and makes decisions about which projects need to involve Campus Facilities staff. Maintains accurate records of work orders and completed work.

Monitors and maintains safety and accessibility of outdoor athletics facilities. Assists, as needed, the College’s grounds-keeping staff with preparation and maintenance of outdoor facilities for various ongoing activities and events.

Coordinates and administers the checkout and assignment of lockers, towels, and sports equipment. Establishes and enforces policies and procedures for these functions and recommends improvements to the Director and Department Chair. Maintains records of locker checkouts and processes appropriate billing procedures for lost/items not returned. Coordinates and handles laundry service for towels, athletic team gear, and other program needs. Ensures student workers and other staff follow policies and procedures for use of laundry, equipment, and locker rooms. Maintains inventory and coordinates with the Director and Department Chair to purchase equipment, supplies, and materials as needed.

Hires, trains, oversees, and provides feedback for student workers and/or part-time non-contracted staff working in athletic events and other facilities related positions, including equipment room, weight room and other support positions. Provides oversight to the Athletics Event Specialist.

Performs other duties as assigned.
