Samford University’s Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to submit applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor in the undergraduate program. There are two positions available. These  faculty positions are 9-month appointments. Individual will be responsible for classroom teaching and clinical supervision of students in courses with adult health content including health assessment, foundations of nursing, adult health nursing and critical care nursing.

Qualified candidates will be graduates of an institutionally accredited university; and a CCNE, CNEA, or ACEN accredited school  of nursing; and hold an unencumbered RN license in the state of Alabama. They will also have a master’s degree in nursing. An earned doctoral degree in nursing is preferred. They must have a minimum of five years of clinical practice experience. Teaching experience in an accredited baccalaureate-nursing program is preferred.

Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills, organizational skills and the ability to provide educational leadership. Prior undergraduate teaching experience and successful performance in the tripartite faculty role is preferred. A commitment to academic excellence and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students and colleagues is expected.

The College of Health Sciences is an innovative initiative for Samford University.
