Job Title Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy Rank Visiting Faculty Tenure Information Non-Tenure Track Job Description

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for the post of Visiting Assistant Professor, commencing August 2021. The Department has needs in several areas, including: Business Ethics, History of Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, and Philosophy of Science.

Essential Duties

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to and/or experience with engaging diverse students in the classroom and be supportive of the department’s commitment to teaching the history of philosophy. They should also be willing to participate in team- and interdisciplinary teaching, to the College’s Development of Western Civilization Program. The teaching load is four courses per semester, including service courses, with a cap of 25 students per class.

Education and Experience Required

Candidates should either possess a Ph.D. from an accredited institution or have completed requirements for the Ph.D. and be in the process of writing the dissertation.
