Position Title Accounts Payable Clerk Overview

The purpose of this position is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all Accounts Payable obligations of the College.

Essential Duties:

1. Responsible for performing day to day accounts payable function including reviewing invoices and check requests for proper documentation and approval, performing extensive data entry into accounts payable system, and processing check runs.

2. Maintain paid vendor files in accordance with college policies.

3. Work with internal departments and vendors to obtain W-9 forms and assist with 1099 compliance requirements.

4. Research and respond to vendor and internal inquiries.

5. Assist with researching stale dated checks.

6. Assist with special projects.

Marginal Duties:

1. Perform all other duties as may be required.

Education and Experience Required

• High school education required. Associates degree in accounting preferred.
• 2+ years of accounts payable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and database systems required.
• Excellent organizational and communications skills with emphasis on accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and under deadline pressure and to prioritize assignments while juggling multiple tasks in a face paced and high volume environment.
