The College of Engineering and Computer Science seeks part-time instructors to teach the MAE613 Product Development in our online MS Engineering Management program:

The online courses utilize both a synchronous and asynchronous component. The instructor will conduct a 90 minute synchronous (live) section each week (15 weeks) with up to 25 students to supplement the asynchronous material (12 weeks of already developed course video, approximately 90 minutes each week). The faculty member will develop and grade assignments and exams, and be available for office hours.

Qualifications

PhD (preferred) or Master’s Degree (required) related to Engineering Management. Teaching or professional experience in the field.

Job Specific Qualifications

•Teaching experience or significant professional experience in a related field

•Experience with instructional design and online teaching preferred

•The ability to be self-directed with broadly-defined limits on assignments

•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written candidates will have:

•A demonstrated ability to interact effectively and efficiently with diverse people in a highly multidisciplinary environment

•Interest in learning to use new technological tools to engage students in a virtual classroom environment

Responsibilities

- Conduct live classes each week based on the lead faculty’s direction from material covered asynchronously, potential questions that may have come from students, items in the news that may apply to course concepts, how students are doing on assignments, etc.

- View asynchronous content in advance of each weekly live session

- Develop homework assignments, projects and exams

- Meet all designated class periods

- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours or be available by appointment

-Submit progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
