Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Five years of experience in Higher Education. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Performs responsible managerial tasks to coordinate with undergraduate and post-graduate student body, General Accounting, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Payroll, and other campus departments. As well as Bank Mobile, Ellucian, and Touchnet and other vendors to achieve the defined mission and goals for this department by directing the daily operations of Student Financial Services including student and employee receipt systems, student refunds, and daily and past due collections. As well as providing departmental assistance in the creation of Touchnet Marketplace stores and receipt systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs highly complex and technical tasks in the functional areas of student receipting, billing, collections, student refunds, and reconciliation. Coordinates student refunds associated with financial aid and other refunds/disbursements. Oversees Bank Mobile processes regarding student refunds, reconciliations of general ledger accounts, etc. Manages student billing adjustments, resignation calculations, Title IV rebates to lenders, tuition rebates, 1098-T preparation and questions or concerns from students regarding accounts, refunds, 1098-T tax information, and aged student and employee account collection process, etc. Oversees third party billing processes such as DARS, Go Army, Texas Tomorrow, etc. Produces student billing statements in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Maintains student fee tables, date tables and student receipt detail codes for student accounts receivable system. Performs research and prepares analytical reports, together with recommendations, on assigned subjects. Maintains information and keeps up to date on set-up, implementation, and ongoing system maintenance of Banner Student A/R including campus-wide training, writing policies for publication in University Catalog and Department website, oversees procedures to uphold regulations and university policy as well as preparation of user guides. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Communicates with other University departments’ faculty and staff, students and external agencies. Must be able to use computers, including programs such as Microsoft Suite products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority ( CSA ).
