Senior Language Lecturer with New York University (New York, NY). Teach Chinese language to undergraduate students and develop a Chinese language program through the application of language teaching techniques. Requires Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Foreign Languages, Chinese Linguistics, or closely related field. Requires at least one (1) year of experience including two full academic semesters as a Chinese language instructor to speakers of English. Requires Native/Near-Native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. Experience must include the following: Teaching beginner and intermediate Mandarin Chinese language at the university level; Developing Chinese language course materials including syllabi, lectures, teaching plans, drill sessions, and tests; Supervising and training new Chinese language teachers and drill instructors; and Employing knowledge of pedagogical methods for language acquisition including instructor-led immersive learning approach, student-centered cognitive approach, and traditional grammar-translation methods.
