Scripps Foundation: Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to assist with quantitative research data collection, management, and analysis. Responsibilities include survey development, testing, and implementation using web-based, mailed, and interview-based data collection; creation and analysis of large datasets combining data from multiple sources; and, assistance with data presentation for reports to various audiences. The Research Associate may also assist researchers with report writing, project management, and research dissemination activities. Position is funded by external grants for one year; renewable upon continued funding and performance.

The mission of the nationally recognized Scripps Gerontology Center is to do work that makes a positive difference in the lives of aging individuals, their families, and communities, and to meet the needs of aging societies. We accomplish this mission through excellence in research, education, and service. Our portfolio includes research on long-term care policy, systems, and services; community-based aging services networks; program evaluation; caregiving; person-centered care; training and lifelong learning for older workers; and demography. Duties include and are not limited to: Assist with quantitative research data collection, management, and analysis, survey development, testing, and implementation using web-based, mailed, and interview-based data collection; creation and analysis of large datasets combining data from multiple sources; and, assistance with data presentation for reports to various audiences. The Research Associate may also assist researchers with report writing, project management, and research dissemination activities.

Required: For appointment as a Research Associate:  Master’s degree in gerontology or closely related social science or analytics field; excellent communication skills; coursework or work experience in quantitative research methods; coursework or training in statistical programs such as SAS or Stata.  For appointment as a Senior Research Associate:  Master’s degree in gerontology, or closely related social science or analytics field; 3 years of related work experience on research projects; excellent communication skills; coursework or work experience in quantitative research methods; coursework or training in statistical programs such as SAS or Stata. This position is not eligible for H1-B sponsorship.

Considerations may be given to candidates with proficiency in SAS; experience with database management, analysis of large-scale secondary data sets, project management experience, informed consent and IRB processes, Qualtrics or other online survey platforms, multiple modes of data collection (in- person, online, telephone), and preparation of manuscripts, reports and data visualizations.
