Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The VCU C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a competent Executive Assistant to provide professional, executive level administrative support and assistance to the Associate Vice President for Clinical Research in the execution of duties, and ensure that priorities are achieved in accordance with the goals and objectives established by the Associate Vice President for Clinical Research.

Minimum Hiring Standards

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of office procedures; experience supporting a senior level executive, especially in a higher level education setting; a strong working knowledge of VCU policies and procedures, especially those related to research activities; excellent ability to make time sensitive judgement and decisions related to the Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research; proficiency in the use of a personal computer; strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, data and information management skills; ability to attend to details and meet deadlines; ability to prioritize work and handle multiple priorities simultaneously; strong customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers in a diverse environment.

Preferred Hiring Standards

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
