The Lewis & Clark College Department of Music invites
applications for the temporary position of Adjunct Orchestra
Conducting Faculty for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Responsibilities will include conducting the orchestra ensemble (up
to 50 players). The orchestra rehearses twice a week (Tuesday and
Thursday, from 7:30-9 pm). The conductor will select appropriate
concert repertoire to be performed in addition to pre-selected
works. In the fall semester, the conductor will oversee the
concerto competition. In the spring semester, the orchestra will
perform in two concerts: a concerto performance, featuring
winner(s) of the Lewis & Clark Concerto Competition, and a
choral-orchestral collaboration to be conducted by the Director of
Choral Activities in April. Adjunct Faculty are expected to be
responsible and responsive members of the music department.

The successful applicant will have a proven record of orchestral
conducting expertise and extensive performing and teaching
experience. Master of Music or Master of Arts required.
