Job Summary
Serve as the primary instructor and curriculum developer for the Office of Career and Professional Development courses GSU 2131 Career Exploration and GSU 2132 Professional Development Seminar.

  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Engage in best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development
  • Collaborate with academic departments and/or university stakeholders to provide emotional intelligence training
  • Assist with data collection, data entry, analyses, and creation of statistical reports
  • Monitor course activity, including override requests, attendance, grades, and appeals
  • Mentor course instructors
  • Serve as course scheduler
  • Assist with preparation and deliver presentations on professional development focusing on emotional intelligence to external stakeholders
  • Lead instruction of the Career Exploration and Professional Development Seminar credit courses and curriculum development of the Career Exploration and Professional Development Seminar courses
  • Assist Assistant Director of Experiential Learning with the development of experiential learning relevant programs on campus and in conjunction with academic departments
  • Supervise and train graduate-level teaching assistants
  • Assess the effectiveness of instructional material in the courses, and maintain assessment inventory
  • Review and suggest textbooks and other educational materials for the courses
  • Develop procedures for teaching assistants and adjunct instructors in implementation of course curriculum
  • Use and model technology in instruction and create instructional materials, including video, graphics, animation, and interactive media elements

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Masters degree

Required Experience
  • Three or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to develop/teach courses using multiple modalities, including face-to-face, online and synchronous learning formats
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing material using a universal design approach
  • Experience teaching face-to-face, online or hybrid courses and/or with instructional development and support
  • Experience authoring in a learning management system, such as Blackboard, Canvas or Moodle

Proposed Salary
$36,500 - $45,700
