Monmouth University is seeking applications for a ten-month
Admission Counselor in the Undergraduate Admission
The candidate would be expected to: impart information about the
University to prospective students, parents, school counselors and
independent counselors, to include: tuition and fees, academic
award program, academic majors, student services, athletic teams,
clubs and organizations; evaluate freshman applicants' academic
credentials and highlight unique cases as deemed appropriate for
further consideration for admission to or denial from the
University; represent the University at high school visits, college
fairs, counselor meetings and information sessions through travel,
at high schools, school counselor events, and professional
development meetings in and out of New Jersey.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal
Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills,
Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information
appropriately, Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2013, Basic Knowledge of
MS Excel 2013, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer
software programs in order to successfully complete assigned
Required Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or obtain by date of employment.
Willingness and ability to travel/recruit throughout New Jersey and
New York and various other states as needed is required.
Willingness and ability to work both traditional, evening and
weekend hours. Candidate must have excellent public speaking skills
and interact comfortably both in large groups and with individual
Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people. Must
have the ability to work with students from various regions in the
country and represent Monmouth effectively in new geographic
Excellent writing and public speaking skills. Must possess ability
to work well both independently and as part of a team. Must have
the ability to plan, think critically, organize, and prioritize, as
well as handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with MS PowerPoint 2013. Admission experience or
employment as a student assistant in the Admission Office of
four-year college or university.
Expertise with collegiate information systems, information
technology, administrative systems, and/or current technology for
marketing and e-communication.
