The Department of Operations is seeking a Campus Operations Coordinator who will be responsible for providing security communication support including maintaining records, updating SOP manuals, monitoring daily access levels, and providing customer service to faculty, staff, students, guests, and vendors visiting campus.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Administration

  • Oversee CPR/AED First Aid trainings and outreach; oversee the Carey fire marshal trainings and departmental representation/selection
  • Serves as safety liaison to building management, oversee fire extinguisher inspections and program, fire marshal licenses, and space capacities
  • Maintain departmental emergency contact listing, building evacuation plans and up to date floor plans
  • Perform inspections of equipment, AED supplies, SIP rooms, emergency supply backpacks
  • Serves as point of contact for service requests on all systems associated with security and safety
  • Make recommendations for security operating procedures and update SOP manuals regularly
  • Assists on new projects related to security assessments, vendor selection, technology upgrades, product selections, testing, and inspection of work in progress for compliance with standards
  • Responsible for scheduling maintenance and minor repairs of adjustments to electronic devices, including but not limited to access control and video surveillance

Operations Support

  • Process incoming vendor/contractor access requests and enter information into the appropriate database
  • Issue access badges, and ID’s in accordance with policy, and utilize the badge system as directed; oversee onboarding process for new hires
  • Work closely with vendors for the systems used on campus to ensure they provide the needed services
  • Responds to phone, email, voicemail, verbal and written service requests; Works closely with vendors to assure timely resolution of services issues.
  • Maintains inventory/warranty of essential parts and equipment to ensure repairs and installation in a timely manner
  • Prepare periodic reports containing access statistics
  • Assists departmental leadership in developing presentation materials for special events such as orientations, class briefings, etc.
  • Assists the Director and Associate Director of Campus Operations with daily assignments and special projects

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • Experience with MS Outlook, MS Teams, and Zoom required.
  • Prior experience with the following strongly desired: 25Live scheduling software, ARMS, Plustrack, and S2 Access Control.

Additional education may substitute for experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula (30 undergraduate degree credits/semester hours or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of administrative experience and security support experience preferred.
  • Experience in a professional setting and experience in an academic environment is a plus.

Starting Salary Range: $17.42 - $23.95/hr (commensurate with experience)

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
