Job Description
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring an Assistant Professor and Director of Education Programs for the Aerospace Career Academy (ACA). This position is responsible for the management of ERAU’s high school dual enrollment ACA program to include maintaining the overall quality and accreditation of the program; providing oversight and guidance to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of programming; acting as liaison between ERAU and appropriate public school districts, charter schools, and private schools; recruiting, screening, training, supervising, and evaluating full-time regional managers, faculty and adjunct faculty; and assisting students.
Gaetz Aerospace Institute is a premier cooperative partnership linking Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with secondary schools. Through this partnership, high schools can offer students the opportunity to enroll in Embry-Riddle courses for university credit. Our concurrent enrollment follows the high school schedule, so students don’t have to leave campus to attend our courses. More information is available at https://erau.edu/gaetz-aerospace-institute .

Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide management of ERAU’s aerospace career academy program
- Be responsible for the instructional quality for the ACA program. Work with faculty, as the leader, in developing new and innovative teaching techniques and course materials
- Assist the Executive Director of Gaetz Aerospace Institute in duties as assigned
- Assist in marketing, development, and public relations efforts to expand program
- Maintain metrics on ACA data and other performance measures
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations
- Maintain currency in secondary school career technical education program development and new initiatives
- Maintain overall quality and accreditation of ERAU’s Aerospace
Career Academy program
- Ensure compliance with University policies, master course outlines, course monitor guidelines, and FAA regulations
- Ensure compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with National Association of Concurrent Enrollment Programs (NACEP) policies and procedures
- Act as liaison between ERAU and appropriate public school
districts, charter schools, and private schools
- Assist individual ACAs with recruiting and fundraising efforts
- Assist individual ACAs with ERAU interdepartmental coordinator
- Recruit, screen, train, supervise, and evaluate full-time ACA
Regional Managers, faculty and adjunct faculty
- Recruit, screen, and train ACA professors in accordance with SACS, NACEP, and University policies and guidelines
- Verify all professors are teaching in accordance with University policies, course monitor guidelines, and FAA regulations
- Assist with and direct classroom observations
- Assist students
- Ensure all students are registered for their courses with ERAU Records and Registration
- Assist interested students in learning more about ERAU and provide assistance in completion of ERAU application package
- Supervise full-time ACA regional managers and adjunct professors
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in aviation, aerospace-related field, social sciences, business, or education.
- FAA Certified Single Engine Land.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience.
- Secondary level career technical education required.
- Management, organizational, public relations, technical, and problem-solving skills required.
- Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or other doctorate level equivalent in education, engineering, or aerospace-related field.
