The School of Education is excited to invite candidates who will serve as a Research Assistant. This position will work with a research/policy evaluation team within VCUs School of Education to support policy analysis of Virginia’s teacher licensure policies. Duties include collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data; policy analysis, report writing, and conducting literature reviews.

Required Qualifications

a. Experience organizing and collecting policy data in education; research and policy analysis in education or related fields;
b. Experience with a variety of data analysis techniques using qualitative data;
c. Strong analytical and writing skills;
d. Strong interpersonal skills;
e. Strong computer technology skills;
f. Demonstrated experience working in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU .

Preferred Qualifications

a. Experience designing and conducting evaluations across various sectors, including government agencies, non-profits, PK12;
Schools, and institutions of higher education;
b. Record of scholarly publications and presentations;
c. knowledge of K-12 Teacher workforce;
d. Masters degree in education, research, or a related field.
