per week, Grant FundedProgram Coordinatorposition.
The Minnesota Center for Diversity in Economics (MCDE) is an affiliate of the Minnesota Council on
Economic Education and was launched at St. Kate’s in 2018. It
embodies St. Catherine University’s commitment to making economics
education accessible to all students. TheMCDEpromotes and supports diversity in economics at
every stage of the educational and career pipeline, ensuring that
people of all backgrounds are trained to engage in and influence
economic research and decision-making. TheProgram
Coordinatorwill design, implement and promote co-curricular
economics education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement workshop series and a mentorship
program
- Collaborate withMCDEdirector and
student workers to plan, organize and present events that feature
diverse speakers and opportunities for student
engagement
- Invite speakers, prepare slides and introduction, and promote
events via social media and other outlets
- Organize 1-3 events per month
- Recruit, train and support teams of mentors / mentees,
connecting St Kate’s students with alumna and high school
students
- Maintain website by adding research and identifying
opportunities to feature student stories
- Monitor theMCDEemail and respond on
behalf of the organization in collaboration with theMCDEdirector
- Advance new initiatives including research on diversity in
economics
- Contribute to research efforts including an ongoing project to
collect data on racial and gender diversity in online economic
education materials
- Maintain relationships with key community partners, particularly with the Minnesota Council for Economics Education
