Founded in 1916, Sacramento City College ( SCC ) is a multi-campus, urban college that consists of a 70-acre main campus across from William Land Park. The College has two educational centers, one in Davis on the campus of the University of California, Davis, and one in West Sacramento located adjacent to the public library, community center, and civic center. SCC is a vibrant teaching and learning institution with approximately 20,000 day and evening students and is recognized as both a Hispanic-Serving Institution ( HSI ) and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution ( AANAPISI ).

SCC awards Associate in Arts or Science degrees as well as Associate Degrees for Transfer, which guarantee transfer into the California State University system. Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Student Services, the Associate Vice President ( AVP ) of Enrollment and Student Services will lead, manage, and evaluate long-range enrollment strategic plans consistent with the mission of the college and its goals regarding quality and equity. The AVP will be responsible for the implementation of a data-driven, market sensitive, goal-oriented strategic enrollment plan, and will provide direction in the meeting of institutional goals. The AVP will build collaborative relationships with a variety of departments in order to coordinate and focus institutional efforts in creating a student-centered approach to recruitment and retention providing leadership and management to various support services at the College including, Professional Development, Enrollment Management, Equity Coordination, Cultural Advisory/Taskforce/Workgroups, Achieving the Dream (SS Administrator), Student Equity and Achievement Plan ( SEAP ), Student Equity and Achievement Budget and other Student Services areas.

Assignment Responsibilities
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing Professional Development, Enrollment Management, Guided Pathways, Equity, as well as Compliance leadership and oversight to Student Services.
  • Providing leadership by collaboratively working with the college leadership team to establish goals.
  • Consulting and collaborating with enrollment services professionals, deans, and chairs in the development of departmental goals related to recruitment, strategies, and enrollment goals.
  • Assuming leadership role in the design and implementation of new initiatives to improve recruitment and retention.
  • Working with the Vice President of Student Services, Vice President of Instruction, Vice President of Administration, Associate Vice Presidents’ of Instruction and Deans to provide leadership and coordination of the college’s enrollment initiatives.
  • Serving as California Community Colleges Chancellors Office liaison to student services.
  • Planning, developing, and administering the resource requirements in the identified areas of responsibilities.
  • Co-Coordinating Students Obtaining Success ( SOS ) activities.
  • Collecting and analyzing of data, preparing and presenting various reports to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating campus commencement.
  • Identifying and coordinating student services grants.
  • Serving on college committees related to enrollment management and student services.
  • Collaborating with Institutional Research, Deans, Public Information Officer, and other individuals using data that assists in marketing and positioning the college.
  • Providing oversight for Program Review and Unit Plans for Student Services.
  • Coordinating student learning outcomes for Student Services.
  • Coordinating with the Vice President of Student Services regarding non-student discipline matters.
  • Providing flex workshops for professional development of faculty and staff.
  • Facilitating just in time interventions to engage students during the semester.
  • Representing Sacramento City College and serving as a liaison for Student Services activities in the district.
  • Representing the Vice President of Student Services in their absence.
  • Translating legislation into action in Student Services.
  • Assisting with distribution of Universal Transit Passes each semester.
  • Participating on the Crisis Intervention Team as a Student Discipline Officer.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.




The administrative assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off campus work and/or hours. Work Year 12 month Work Schedule Total Hrs per Week/Day Special Requirements Minimum Qualifications
  1. Have a master’s degree*, all degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by October 21, 2021
  2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.
  3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
