Grizzly Athletics invites applications for a Pole Vault Coach to join their team on campus. The individual in this role will provide on-field instruction and guidance to student-athletes, specifically student-athletes in field events with a focus on pole vault. The incumbent who occupies this role will be expected to assist with recruitment of outstanding athletes to UM program who can be academically successful, planning of team travel, and all aspects of home track meets. Additionally, they will work in close consultation with the track athletic academic advisor to ensure the academic success of track student-athletes.

Position Details
  • Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 12 month, Letter of Appointment Contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.


Required Skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and recruit the highly skilled student-athlete
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds


Minimum Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and experience coaching and/or competing in pole vault at the collegiate level


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting in the Northwest
  • Collegiate coaching experience at the Division I level
