The Office of Alumni Relations purpose is to promote the welfare of
the university by cultivating a mutually beneficial relationship
between California State University, San Bernardino and its growing
worldwide community of alumni. Alumni Relations provides and
supports alumni programs and services, facilitates communication
with alumni, and seeks to encourage alumni engagement for a
The Alumni Association leverages the resources, talents, and
initiatives of alumni to support students, advise, guide, advocate
for the Association and the university in achieving their
respective missions and goals.
The Alumni Programs Specialist will work under the supervision of
the Director of Alumni Relations in support of the University's
alumni engagement strategy. The individual will be responsible for
coordinating department event logistics. The individual will work
in collaboration with colleagues within the department to develop
marketing and presentation materials.
The Alumni Programs Specialist will continuously evaluate the
department's programs, identifying opportunities for growth and
excellence, while improving the alumni engagement experience. The
Alumni Programs Specialist will work as part of Alumni Relations
team to build relationships with students, alumni and the campus
- Coordinate strategy for a year-round schedule of regional and
international alumni events, including all pre-event and post-event
- Oversee attendee reporting and tracking in Advance database,
post event surveys, thank-yous, follow-up correspondence,
solicitations and reporting.
- Develop office processes that ensure accurate and complete data
tracking and reporting on attendee participation, volunteer
engagement and leadership in the constituent database.
- Establish metrics and benchmarks, builds, retrieves and
analyzes data to produce reports to advance participation and
engagement rates and improve operating performance and success for
- Create and update presentations for key university stakeholders
that demonstrates department initiatives and successes.

Education and Experience
- Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of university
infrastructure, policies, and procedures or in an organization with
similar complexity is required.
- The ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
independently and to use judgment and discretion is required.
- Strong competency in fiscal management and the ability to use
campus Enterprise Systems to obtain the necessary information is

and present reports, minutes, and other documents in a professional

- Expertise in using office software, technology and systems

- Skill in planning and performing research and participating in

organization's programs, policies, and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent training and
administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or
evaluation leading to the development or improvement of
administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
- Experience: Additional experience which has demonstrated that
the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge
and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required
education on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of three (3) years work experience providing
progressively responsible administrative, technical and analytical
support in an environment of similar complexity.
- Experience working in higher education.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,000 - $4,416 per month
Classification Salary Range: $3,288 - $6,347 per month
