Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time, exempt position of Enrollment Data Analyst. The Enrollment Data Analyst is responsible for the design, creation, and maintenance of enrollment data to support enrollment strategy, student success, and process improvement initiatives. The position will operate in an agency model with primary deliverables to the Office of Undergraduate Admission and secondary deliverables to other enrollment teams and leadership. This position will work in collaboration with the team members from the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness and other university offices on assigned projects. The Enrollment Data Analyst is responsible for data security and data accuracy in reporting. This position is located in River Forest, IL, but has the potential for working remotely up to 50% of the time after onboarding, and reports directly to the Assistant Provost for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Extract and manipulate data sets from Banner, Blackboard, CRM Recruit and other data sources to drive effective strategic and programmatic decision-making, research, and compliance for the enrollment area.
  • Write queries, programs, scripts or macros to aid in data extraction and analysis. Fully document data queries and process for report writing. Convert existing reports to new formats and quickly adopt new requirements/codes from the enrollment units into existing reporting and data models.
  • Manage all aspects of survey administration, including data collection, data analysis, report writing, and presentations.
  • Create, edit, and maintain internal and external reports using Access, Tableau, SPSS, R, Excel, or other data analytic tools.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, prepare technical reports and other publications for the university and accrediting bodies.
  • Perform statistical analysis; interpret statistical outputs for enrollment and other administrators for programmatic and business decisions; generate charts and tables with SPSS, Excel, Tableau, or other statistical analysis software programs.
  • Collaborate to create and maintain effective, valid, and reliable performance indicator data dashboards and report cards to provide high quality data enrollment trends and outcomes. This includes consulting on changes that impact enrollment strategy or reporting with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Analyze, translate, and disseminate data in user-friendly manner, using data visualization on the web, visual documents (e.g., tables, charts, graphs, etc.) and disseminate results via appropriate electronic media, such as web sites, written reports, and in-person presentations.
  • Provide regular feedback on best practices in data-driven enrollment planning and research and develop innovative systems to improve data collection, database content, streamline data analysis and reporting for greater efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as performing testing or quality control, manage databases, and organize data files, etc.

Skill Sets:

  • Improves work performance and that of others by being receptive to and appropriately sharing information
  • Proficient in SQL/Access
  • Proficient in the use of statistical analysis software such as SPSS and R. Python is also helpful
  • Demonstrate ability to clean, merge, maintain and analyze large data sets
  • Excel skills and expertise in using Charts, Macros, Formulas and Pivot Tables. Data visualization experience in Tableau also helpful
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines while maintaining priority on primary account.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and work in a team environment
  • Maintain confidentiality, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ethics in data collection and analysis
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in order to prepare statistical reports for internal and external stakeholders and ability to explain methods and analysis of data to audience with varying levels of expertise
  • Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner ERP or Ellucian CRM Recruit helpful
  • Familiarity with survey tools such as Qualtrics or Survey Monkey helpful
  • Prior experience in enrollment or institutional research office is a plus

Minimum Experience Required:

Four years of experience working in a computer, strategic planning, enrollment data and/or research support role

Education Requirements:

Master's Degree preferred in educational research, statistics, analytics, social/behavioral sciences or related field; Bachelor's degree required
