LSC-Houston North Greenspoint is a state-of-the-art, full-service location designed to serve the greater Greenspoint area. The facility offers a selection of day, evening and weekend credit courses, including university-transfer courses, certificates, computer/office skills, and developmental studies.

Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

T he Specialist II, Assessment Center administer s exams in a secure and customer friendly environment where ethical judgement and dedication to exam security is vital. P rovide s a safe and secure testing environment in accordance with testing vendor policies as well as faculty guidelines and instructions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Administer computer-based and paper-based academic, admissions, certification, and specialty exams while utilizing vendor and system polices, best practices, and procedures
  • Create and maintain a secure testing environment by validating identities, monitoring students, and reporting irregularities
  • Maintain office records and testing materials by receiving, logging, tracking, scanning, emailing, and filing incoming and outgoing exams
  • Enter testing results into the student database
  • Provide testing expertise to colleagues, students, faculty, and community members
  • Assist with technology troubleshooting related to testing software; verify that all equipment is performing at peak efficiency and notify OTS if computers are not functioning properly
  • Provide customer service and build trusting relationships by greeting customers, providing information, and answering questions from student, faculty, and community
  • Make testing appointments for students
  • Facilitate test scheduling and administration for students with testing accommodations in accordance with ADA
  • Maintain inventory, confidentiality, and security of all testing materials.
  • Enforce testing security by ensuring testers do not possess any materials that are in violation of testing protocols (electronic devices, etc.)
  • Train and update part-time Proctors and provide direction when the Director is not present
  • Maintain testing certifications and ordering materials; prepare requisitions for test and exams
  • Attend monthly meetings of the Testing Council to keep informed of current testing practices at other campuses
  • Responsible for record keeping and organization of files pertaining to the Assessment Center. Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL ABILITIES :

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS :

    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Working days may include evenings and/or Saturdays


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $30,000 - $34,500

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
