Position Summary:

The Graduate Medical Education Coordinator (GME Coordinator) works within the Office of Education in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. The GME Coordinator assists in the administration and daily operations of the surgical residency and fellowship programs, and reports to the GME Program Manager to collaboratively ensure the ongoing accreditation and success of the training programs. The GME Coordinator assists the assigned divisional Program Director in the day-to-day activities involved in the maintenance of residency programs, and residents within.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferably in education, health care administration or closely related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Previous experience working within the University of Wisconsin system and/or Graduate Medical
Education (GME), as well as familiarity with ACGME, AAMC and other accrediting organizations, is desirable.
Experience in educational administration and/or office management in an academic health care
setting is desirable.
Experience in resident and/or faculty scheduling using QGenda is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
