Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder Athletics Department encourages applications for an On Campus Football Recruiting Assistant. This position will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Player Personnel to aid the recruiting efforts of the University Football Program. This position supports student-athlete recruitment by planning, conducting and evaluating all on-campus visitation programming, coordinates and leads large recruiting events, works with CU departments to partner for visit programs and academics, leads recruitment activities for prospect parents and families, and assists with FB on-campus events such as camps and clinics.

The position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statements, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Pac 12 Conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

On-Campus Visits and Programs:
  • Establish goals and objectives for each of the prospect visitation types while establishing program priorities and expectations.
  • Own the planning of all prospective student-athlete visits including official and unofficial visits, and other on-campus programs and events.
  • Lead the hosting of prospective student-athletes during large events including home football games, junior days and other events.
  • Assist football staff with organization of summer camps and clinics.

Program Planning:
  • Design visitation program structure and itineraries including detailed staff roles and responsibilities for all on-campus and virtual visit opportunities.
  • Responsible for all aspects of prospect and family travel arrangements and the communication of visit details.
  • Work the Compliance Office to provide staff training and host education, as well as to complete previsit documentation.
  • Collaborate with recruiting staff for the hiring and training of undergraduate interns to assist with recruiting programs.
  • Collaborate with all FB support areas for their role in football prospect visitation programming and events.

Program and Event Evaluation and Follow Up:
  • Communicate and debrief post-event with all groups involved in campus visitation program based on function and need.
  • Evaluate all campus visitation program types for efficiency based on program/event objectives and goals.
  • Complete all required post-program forms and documentation as well as post-visit prospect and family communication.
  • Lead research for new and emerging trends related to on-campus recruiting programs and events.

Prospect Recruiting and Communication:
  • Assist with communication and social media efforts with prospects and families
  • Assist with all football events such as National Signing Day, booster events and Pro Day.
  • Assist with coaching staff recruiting travel planning.
  • Assist coaches and recruiting staff with high school relations.
  • Assist in the determination and documentation of prospect ratings.

  • There may be weekend work throughout the recruiting season based on program requirements and recruiting calendar.


What We Can Offer

  • The salary rate is $35,568 annually.
  • Additional Compensation Details:

What We Require

  • Bachelor's Degree. Some experience working in football recruiting at the Power Five level either as a student, intern or professional. Equivalent combination of education or experience to provide the necessary proficiencies.


What You Will Need

Ability to work collaboratively with football coaches and staff, as well as athletic department and campus personnel.
Ability to set goals and to deliver phenomenal visitation programs through effective planning, execution and evaluation.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all groups related to work.
Ability to use various recruiting software and platforms to increase efficiencies.
Ability to work with focus and diligence to meet position responsibilities and expectations.
Ability to build excellent relationships with football prospects and their families.

What We Would Like You To Have
  • Direct experience with student-athlete recruitment.
  • Experience in creating and facilitating campus visitation programs and recruiting events for prospective student-athletes and their parents.
  • Experience with relationship building with prospects as well as their families.
  • Experience and proficiency with various recruiting platforms.
