Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Director of Curriculum Initiatives and Quality will report directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs to oversee development of new curriculum initiatives; monitor compliance with all Liaison Committee on Medical Education ( LCME ) accreditation standards; and oversee the process of course and clerkship reviews. The director will coordinate meetings and communications between key stakeholders including administrative deans/staff, basic science and clinical faculty, and students to ensure our medical education curriculum meets and/or exceeds national accreditation standards, The director will play an integral role as we prepare for interval LCME site visits and monitor ongoing quality improvement in between site visits.

Minimum Hiring Standards

Minimum of Master’s degree in Education or Medical Education. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience working in medical education curriculum design. Ability to engage basic scientists and clinicians to develop and refine teaching skills. Can generate reports needed for accreditation site visits

Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work in a diverse environment

Preferred Hiring Standards

Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards
Extensive experience with course and clerkship director onboarding
