Pace University’s Department of Biology of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences invites applicants for a full-time, one year faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track). The position is at the University’s campus in lower Manhattan.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate introductory biology laboratory courses for our STEM and Health Sciences majors. Our introductory biology laboratory courses engage students in the novel research experiences. Our Biology 101 laboratory course incorporates the Small World Initiative curriculum (www.smallworldinitiative.org) and is designated as a writing enhanced course. Our Biology 102 laboratories engage students in several authentic research modules – each focusing on different organisms. Applicants will, additionally, be required to fully engage with the Department by attending Departmental meetings, representing the Department at various University events such as Open Houses, and serve on Department committees.

Position Qualifications:          

  • Ph.D. in a biological sub-discipline (those with experience teaching undergraduates are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates who have created or contributed to programs that aim to increase access and success of underrepresented students or faculty in the sciences, or have detailed plans to accomplish such goals are preferred.
