Buena Vista University, a member of the American Rivers Conference
and NCAA Division III, seeks qualified applicants for the position
of Director of Athletic Training. This is a full time position with
8 weeks of agreed upon time off.
This position is responsible for the overall management of athletic
training room operations with oversight of sports medicine coverage
of all intercollegiate varsity sports, cheer and dance.
Responsibilities include coordinating the care, prevention, and
treatment of athletic injuries to student-athletes in all sports
programs. Arrange for injury and illness treatment by team
physicians and other medical personnel as necessary. Maintain
complete, accurate, and detailed medical records for all
student-athlete injuries. Hire, train, and supervise full-time
employees. Coordinate and schedule clinical assignments; practice,
contest, and general athletic training room coverage. Additional
duties include serving as the on-record Athletics Healthcare
Administrator with the NCAA.
A Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or a closely related field;
NATA-BOC Certified, 3+ years of athletic training experience;
eligible for Iowa licensure; and hold and maintain current
CPR/First Aid/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
is required. Five years of athletic training experience and
collegiate level experience is preferred.
