Position Summary:

The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) provides information technology services to UW-Madison, all UW campuses, and the UW System and other agencies, employing approximately 700 people and operating with a budget of over $100 million. This position is located within Systems Engineering and Operations.

SEO is the infrastructure and operations unit for DoIT and provides physical and virtual hosting, storage, backup, and database infrastructure for campus and research computing needs. The Critical Infrastructure Service Lead is responsible for the service management, leadership, and delivery of highly regulated Life/Health/Safety and Financial Enterprise IT Services to the UW-Madison campus.

This position will develop and maintain effective relationships with the UW-Madison Police Department, Facilities Planning & Management, Business Services, HIPAA and Select Agent Program officials, and Cybersecurity as well as multiple departments within DoIT. Working with these stakeholders, the Critical Infrastructure Service Lead has overall accountability for defining the service(s), ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agreed upon business requirements, and managing the service(s) lifecycle.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required Qualifications
1.Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships (e.g. customers, partners, vendors, sponsors/stakeholders, and technical/non-technical staff, etc.)
2.Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to deliver Enterprise-class IT services.
3.Prior experience working with IT systems requiring regulatory compliance (e.g. PCI, FISMA, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, CJIS, etc.).
4.Knowledge of the fundamentals of Enterprise Information Technology service management and delivery (e.g. operational support models, product development lifecycles, sponsor and stakeholder management, etc.).
5.Project management experience (e.g. resource coordination, charter development, business requirements gathering, etc.).
6.Effective oral and written communication skills including presentation and public speaking abilities.
7.Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to lead technical and non-technical staff in team environment.
8.Must pass a background check and be approved by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under 42 CFR 73.8 and the Criminal Justice Information Security Risk Assessment.

Seven years of professional Information Technology project management or leadership experience to be considered for Senior Level.

Preferred Qualifications
1.Prior experience managing Enterprise IT services and/or service portfolios.
2.Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification or experience.
3.Lean Six Sigma Certification or equivalent process improvement coursework or experience.
4.Financial and resource management experience.

Additional Information:

Please note that successful applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship, on or before the effective date of appointment.

The candidate selected for this position will initially perform a combination of on-site and remote work subject to an approved telecommuting agreement, which is reviewed and approved annually. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a University provided computer. Future onsite work, or a combination of onsite/remote work, could be discussed.

Occasional night or weekend work for large implementations, cutovers, etc.

Must pass a background check and be approved by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under 42 CFR 73.8 and the Criminal Justice Information Security Risk Assessment.
