Under the supervision of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator assists with activities necessary to process multiple payrolls, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management. While involved in other employee payrolls, this position is essential in organizing and delivering accurate payrolls for student employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for assisting with payroll preparation, including activities with the payroll system.
  • Works closely with the Human Resources department to ensure status changes are reflected in upcoming payrolls and any discrepancies are addressed and resolved.
  • Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures. Uses the Colleges policies and procedures in establishing and monitoring payroll policies. Interprets and applies guidelines to ensure compliance and equitable application.
  • Keeps current with HR payroll policies and public policy changes affecting payroll rules and guidelines; provides input to policies and procedures for payroll processing.
  • Acts as a main point of contact to address employee issues with Payroll.
