Position Summary:

The MSE School Counseling Program at Arkansas State University seeks a candidate for a 9-month faculty position. This position will require teaching both synchronous and asynchronous online courses, including group supervision and counseling techniques

This position will also provide support for program accreditation and course development. This position will be remote and requires occasional travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Teaching four courses per semester in the MSE School Counseling Program will include teaching School Counseling courses

  • Workload will include 12 hours per semester

  • Summer teaching may be available

  • Assist with course development

  • Provide comprehensive feedback on student assignments and discussion posts in order to promote learning and growth

  • Willingness to integrate Zoom sessions into classes (at least 1 per session) in order to enhance faculty / peer interaction and augment learning

  • Assist with accreditation process (ASCA SPA Accreditation)

  • Contribute as a collegial member of the School Counseling Program

  • Engage in supervision and advising as needed

  • Serve on committees as needed

  • Attend weekly department team meetings

  • Provide support to students who may be struggling

  • Research / scholarship and professional development in order to foster professional development and student growth

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to teach online school counseling courses and engage in service duties as appropriate for the program
• Ability to work in a collaborative team setting
• Ability to share Formal ASU Faculty Evaluations (EvaluationKIT)

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned terminal degree appropriate for School Counselor educators
