The primary purpose of this position is to support the office in developing new and strengthening existing community based relationships that are necessary in providing students with opportunities to engage in high impact practices in a variety of disciplines. In addition to working directly with campus partners and community partners to organize and administer innovative and impactful engagement programs, this position would be responsible for developing educational opportunities for agency representatives and facilitating training for agencies as it relates to student development, working with faculty, and engaging the UNCP Campus. This position would take the lead on developing new initiatives and programs that intentionally engage students in high impact practices focused on civic and community engagement. Additionally, the position would work with student leaders in planning community-based service programs, assist with coordinating alternative break programs, implement campus-wide outreach of civic and community engagement opportunities, manage UNCP Serve and assist partners and students in tracking engagement activities.

This position will be directly responsible for conducting and coordinating days of service, volunteer fairs and networking events; maintenance of partner profiles on UNCP Serve; coordinating a community organization network that provides access to community partners; building relationships with potential donors to provide support for CCE programs; developing and implementing community partner development trainings and workshops; and conducting needs assessments for community and partnering agencies. In addition, this position will assist with general oversight for the CARE Resource Center, UNCP’s on-campus food pantry, and be responsible for building new and strengthening existing partnerships with key stakeholders, donors, and partners.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in any field. One-three years of experience in working with student populations and in working and collaborating with community based organizations, government agencies, and non-profits.

Management Preferences: Applicants must be innovative and creative in developing partnerships with agencies and organizations that promote academic service-learning, community service, civic engagement opportunities for faculty and students; have the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously; excellent writing and public speaking, marketing skills; have the ability to work independently and part of a team.
