The Office of Leadership and Learning at Old Dominion University is accepting applications for the Director (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of campus-wide leadership initiatives, service learning and civic engagement, and residential living-learning communities including the Owens House learning commons, classrooms, and labs. This position is also responsible for measurable student success outcomes by leading the development of leadership and learning programs and services, researching and applying theoretical frameworks, implementing marketing and student recruitment efforts, conducting assessment practices, managing the department’s budget, supervision of full-time, part-time, and student employees, and developing and collaborating with campus partners and community stakeholders. Other duties include: develops collaborative strategies with faculty to enhance the curricular and co-curricular student experience by developing student focused initiatives that enhance academic learning, leadership, and civic engagement; supervises the Associate Director for Leadership, the Assistant Director for Service Learning, and the Assistant Director for Living-Learning Communities as well as graduate assistants and student employees; serves a member of the Student Engagement and Enrollment Services (SEES) Unit Leaders Team and supports University initiatives for student success.

Required Education: Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, or a related field OR a bachelor’s degree and related experience equivalent to a master’s degree in the areas of study previously indicated may be substituted.

Required Qualifications: Related experience functioning in a full-time capacity to include experience working with leadership programs, service-learning, living-learning communities, or related programs. Administrative experience in higher education, including administering a budget, planning, and staff supervision.
