The Faculty of Arts at UBC Vancouver encompasses internationally renowned programs in the social sciences, humanities, creative and performing arts, and professional schools. The new Dean will bring a successful track record in significant administrative roles in research intensive universities.  The Dean will have a strong track record in research and teaching, which they will bring to bear in their role in promoting excellence in both. The new Dean will provide strategic leadership, ensure productive relationships with other faculties as well as the university administration, government, public and professional constituencies, and promote excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly contributions throughout the Faculty. A strategic leader with the capacity and vision to build on the momentum that the Faculty has achieved in recent years, the new Dean will be collaborative and have exceptional interpersonal skills.  The new Dean’s background and credentials will merit an appointment as full professor in the Faculty of Arts at UBC.
