Instructor of Theatre Position Number 997432 Department Visual and Performing Arts Salary $43,175 Job Summary/Description

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Angelo State University seeks a dynamic teacher to join an established and growing theatre program as an Instructor of Theatre beginning Fall 2021.
Successful candidates should have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence, an active career in theatre performance and the ability to direct university-level dramatic productions.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

Teach Introduction to Dramatic Art (face-to-face and on-line), courses in acting, movement and voice, script analysis, dramatic literature and other related courses assigned by the Director of Theatre and department chair. Direct 1-2 productions each year. Expectation for instructor to attend theatre student recruiting events and advise theatre students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and outside the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

M.A. in Theatre

Preferred Qualifications

M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Theatre preferred;
