Under general supervision reports to the Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Dir. TSU Foundation. Orchestrates and executes activities related to the analysis, planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising from alumni, partners, employees, foundations and friends of the University. Provides staff management for working with and through the Texas Southern University Foundation Board, while also playing an important front-line fundraising role. And, have a proven successful fundraising track record.

Essential Duties Summary

• Develop comprehensive fundraising program for the fundraising cycle of identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of private donors. Align, rebuild and transform development operations and collaborate in the creation of enhanced team. Proven competence in preparing and managing an operating budget, including experience in creating credible philanthropic and financial forecasting models in partnership with leadership.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising including annual giving, corporate and foundation giving, major and principal giving and planned gifts: financial and budgetary concepts.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all activities related to constituent and campaign-based fundraising
• Robust quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to understand complex financial records and make decisions based on data, and the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities
• Proven ability to successfully manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects; ability to coach other staff in the development and successful management of major and principal gift portfolios.,

• Works in tandem with Director of Development, Deans, and Development Officers to establish goals and objectives for each constituent Program
• An ability to aggressively but realistically set and achieve fundraising goals
• Proven ability to motivate staff to keep them engaged, energized, and focused on results and the ability to cultivate a sense of team effort where diversity, inclusiveness, transparency and open communication are valued

• Identify and evaluate professional and support staff, in consultation with the Vice President for University Advancement
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Vice President for University Advancement.

Hiring Range $141,987.00 - $184,584.00 Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher. Master’s degree preferred.

Required Licensing/Certification

Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
