  • The English Department at Georgian Court University is seeking adjunct instructors for the Fall 2021 Writing Program. Instructors are currently needed on the Lakewood campus for:

    • EN105 and EN106 Essentials of Academic Writing I and II, basic writing courses, some with integrated ELL and/or

    • EN111 Academic Writing and Research I, the first-year composition requirement

    These courses run Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, 75-minute periods each day, in sections starting 8AM through 4PM. Classes begin Monday August 23.

    Essential Functions:

    • Teach one or more writing courses per semester (3 credits each).

    • Provide reasonable office hours for students.

    • Assess learning outcomes and suggest curricular improvements in formal and informal reports.

    • Participate in Writing Program faculty meetings and professional development activities.

    • Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.

    Qualifications:

    •Advanced degree in English or Rhetoric/Composition

    •Evidence of teaching excellence in college-level composition courses.

    •Strong course evaluations and/or strong recommendations from supervisors.

    •Willingness to follow the department's writing course syllabi and assessment protocol

    •Experience with course management systems, such as Blackboard.

    •Willingness to complete Blackboard training program before classes begin.
