The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University is seeking a Part-time Instructor to teach a four credit section of Arabic V in the fall semester. Offering is contingent upon sufficient enrollment.

Course Description:
Arabic V, ARB 301
Continuing proficiency-based Arabic language course which focuses on more advanced levels of proficiency in reading, speaking, writing, and listening.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree required; native or near-native fluency required. Experience in university-level teaching preferred.

Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities

It is understood that teaching assignment may include:

Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.

Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.

Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.

Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.

Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.

Meeting all designated class periods.

Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.

Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.

Building a positive rapport with students and faculty.
