SALARY: $20.00 per hour

UNIT: Unaffiliated (Part-Time)
DEPARTMENT: Natural Sciences
REPORTS TO: Chairperson/Associate Chairperson of Natural Sciences
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Organizes and coordinates the administrative workflow.
2. Coordinates complex departmental projects from inception through completion.
3. Provides primary secretarial support to the department.
4. Identifies problems and/or inconsistencies in the record system and provides for their solution or correction.
5. Maintains Administrator's files, calendar, and correspondence.
6. Prepares correspondence, complex technical and/or statistical reports, agendas, and minutes of meetings.
7. Arranges, participates in, and implements meetings and conferences as directed.
8. Participates in the training and motivation of other support staff.
9. Provides students, employees, or department members information and directs them to appropriate resources.
10. Operates office equipment.
11. Maintains accurate files and records via manual or computerized systems.
12. Orders office supplies and instructional/administrative materials as needed.
13. Sorts and distributes mail within the department.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous work experience in an academic area/college/school setting
• Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
• Self-motivated with excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Accuracy and close attention to detail
• Strong communication skills necessary in order to deal with a multi-faceted office environment, students and the general public
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate's degree
• Working knowledge of Colleague system

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
20 hours per week
