Description
The Interim Assistant Principal of Burris will provide academic leadership and general oversight of elementary school grades at Burris Laboratory School; work with Teachers College and other BSU colleagues in preparing high quality education professionals; provide leadership in supervision and evaluation of elementary grades curriculum and instruction, professional development of faculty/staff, and action research related to the school and university’s mission; engage in collaborative decision-making regarding social-emotional learning, school discipline, and security, and budget; communicate and work effectively with stakeholders of Burris Laboratory
School (parents, community members, Burris alumni, and university personnel); collaborate with the Indiana Academy in terms of facilities, schedules, and personnel; and be responsible for overall supervision and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the school.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Three years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle, or secondary school level.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with university pre-service and/or student teachers; experience working in a laboratory school; Previous school administration experience.
Required Certifications/Licensures
Hold or be eligible to hold an Indiana principal’s license.
Pre-Employment Screening
Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
