Recreational Sport & Family Program Coordinator - (STA007587)



Responsible for day to day operations and supervision of Sport Club and Summer Camp programs, as well as student staff. This position also assists with other youth/family programs, Intramural Sports and other events for the Department of Campus Recreation.

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Sport Club officers, student staff for the Sport Club and Summer Camp programs, and summer camp management; coordinates student staff training, scheduling, student development programs and learning outcomes.
  • Assist with the implementation of camp structure and curriculum; assess risk for Intramural, sport club, youth/family, and summer camps.
  • Participates in the day to day operation of sport clubs and camp, implement department emergency action plan, inspect campus program areas and recommend changes.
  • Create semi-annual and annual reports; maintain department records including contract agreements, equipment maintenance requests and make recommendations for replacement.
  • Work with CRWC facilities staff for maintenance and risk management issues; coordinates departmental risk and safety plans in collaboration with the Campus Recreation safety committee.
  • Coordinates program reservations and schedules for multiple intramural, club, and camp activities; consults with participants for questions and concerns; administer assessments and evaluation of programs.
  • May assist with budget planning, monitor expenses with sport club leaders to enhance fundraising opportunities; maintain financial records and process payroll.
  • May collaborate with campus partners and academic units to develop and implement programs and events to contribute to student success.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree and 1 year experience.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
