Department Of Athletics

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is a highly successful member of NCAA Division II, competing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). CSUSB has 210 student-athletes competing in 10 sports. CSUSB Athletics teams compete for national honors in competition and the classroom, boasting the reigning national champion in women's volleyball along with multiple teams ranked nationally. Importantly, CSUSB has had at least one Academic All-American for the past 5 years and boasts a department-wide 3.35 GPA. The CCAA has been one of the nation's most successful intercollegiate athletic conferences since its establishment in 1938. CCAA members have won 154 NCAA Championships (102 men, 52 women) which is far and away the most of any Division II conference.

Job Summary
  • Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletics Director and lead of Game Operations and Facilities Coordinator, the incumbent will have oversight and management of the day-to-day operations for equipment operations across all sports in CSUSB Athletics, including procurement, repair, safety, and branding initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with University policy, state and federal regulations, and NCAA, CCAA rules and regulations.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.


Employment Status: Part-time, “non-exempt”, probationary position (with the possibility of converting to permanent).

First Review Deadline: This position will remain open until filled. Applicants will be reviewed beginning July 1, 2021.


Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, some evenings and weekends required to support Athletics programming, event management, and game-day operations.



Key Qualifications
  • Ability to compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to take inventory and maintain various types of records.
  • Ability to maintain and perform minor repairs of athletic equipment and clothes.
  • Ability to supervise and work with assistants.
  • Ability to give routine first aid.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of materials and equipment used in team and individual sports and of the care and maintenance of athletic equipment.
  • Ability to make repairs of athletic equipment and clothing.
  • Ability to keep records.
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.



Education and Experience
  • One (1) year of experience which would provide adequate training for supervising the equipment and supply services in a college athletic program.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Any combination equivalent to high school graduation AND experience in the storage and maintenance of athletic equipment and supplies.



Salary

Anticipated Hiring Range: $1,500.00 monthly (FTE 0.50)/$3,000.00 monthly (FTE 1.0) - $1,667.00 monthly (FTE 0.50)/$3,335.00 monthly (FTE 1.0)

Classification Salary Range: $2,912.00- $4,840.00 monthly (FTE 1.0)
