Create and curate content for the College’s social
media channels, with an emphasis on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram. Look for opportunities to creatively and cleverly convey
Kenyon’s distinctions, upholding and building on brand messaging
guidelines.
Monitor the College’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
channels, responding to and interacting with prospective and
current students, alumni, parents and community members. Utilize
social listening and analytics to analyze and report on Kenyon’s
social media activities, practices and reputation.
Collaborate with the Video Producer on Kenyon’s
overall social media presence and work with the Graphic Designer on
the cohesive visual presentation of digital content and campaigns
across online platforms.
Keep current on social media best practices and
provide guidance to Kenyon faculty and staff members, including
liaising with social media account managers and content producers
in Admissions, Alumni and Parent Engagement, and Campus Life.

Write and edit content for brand-forward pages on the
College’s website that serve as top destinations for prospective
students. This includes posting, packaging and promoting news and
feature stories, blogs and videos that align with brand
messaging.
With guidance from the Director of Creative and Brand
Strategy, seek to elevate student voices and viewpoints across
Kenyon’s digital landscape by supervising and mentoring student
writers, working with them to generate story ideas for blog posts,
and editing, posting and promoting the content.
Collaborate with the News Director and Director of
Web Strategy on the management of the digital editorial
calendar.

Support the Director of Creative and Brand Strategy
on managing the enrollment email communications strategy for
prospective students at all stages of the recruitment funnel,
encouraging them to inquire about Kenyon, explore the website,
visit campus, apply and enroll.
Write and update emails driving prospective students
to key landing pages on Kenyon’s website as well as videos, stories
and blog posts that align with brand messaging.
Help ensure the timely flow of email communications
to prospective students and utilize analytics to report on
effectiveness among audience segments and advise on strategy.

Student writers and content producers
-
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications,
English or a related subject.
Two to three years of writing and editing experience
in a higher-education, agency, corporate or non-profit digital
setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience.
Familiarity with AP style conventions, excellent
spelling and grammar skills, attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to use social media channels and
digital content management systems in a goal-oriented
environment.
Understanding of admission and fundraising issues
facing small, selective liberal arts colleges.
Record of achievement that includes evidence of
successful planning and problem solving.
Ability to meet deadlines and execute complex
projects in a highly collaborative environment.
Creativity in using technology to tell engaging
stories.
Refined editorial judgment.
