Landscaper

Title: Landscaper

Position Summary: Performs routine and advanced landscaping. Performs and supervises the manual work necessary to maintain campus grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs landscaping maintenance duties including, but not limited to, planting, transplanting, pruning, removal and irrigating for all campuses. Tends to flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work area to insure proper standards are maintained. Responsible for tracking the watering of beds and all newly constructed areas to maintain healthy areas for all new plants, trees and shrubbery. Assists with inspection of sprinkler systems; assists in making small repairs and monitors water usage of irrigation areas. Participates in spring and fall on-campus clean up, as directed. Assists with maintaining of campus sod. Assists with trash cleanup of designated area(s). Coordinates seed planting. Enforces safety regulations at the work site. Adjusts, cleans and performs minor mechanical work on ground equipment. Recommends for purchase and suggests suitable locations for trees and shrubs. Requisitions, controls and issues grounds keeping supplies. Applies/tracks pesticides and herbicides applications. Works with landscape architects and tree removal companies. Works with plant operations team with office moves and team organized projects. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. One year of experience within a nursery, greenhouse environment, or equivalent activities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Knowledge of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides. Knowledge of good horticultural practices and knowledge of the plant species for this climate area. Basic knowledge of computers.

Pay Rate: 26,940.00 - 32,330.00 annual salary depending on experience
