Graduate Admission Counselor

Serving on the graduate admission team, the Graduate Admission Counselor serves a vital role in the success of graduate enrollment management by contacting, supporting, and guiding prospective graduate students through enrollment, focusing on the following key areas: inquiry to application conversions, admit to enrollment conversions, and managing melt. The position has primary responsibility for an assigned student caseload and other general admission counseling duties, such as individual student outreach, responding to incoming phone calls, emails, texts, and live chats, and advocating for students during the enrollment process. In addition, all positions are responsible for the understanding and upholding of Miami University’s and Enrollment Management and Student Success’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion statements, values and goals. This Position is a full-time, temporary position located in Oxford, Ohio, with the opportunity for a permanent placement.

Manage assigned student caseload through prospect relationship management, leveraging partnerships, relationships, admission and enrollment data, and CRM system to maintain consistent recruitment activity, to increase prospective student engagement and influence admission yield (30%)
Manage incoming communications professionally and dependably; adhering to staff coverage schedule for assigned live chat, call, and email shifts (20%)
Consistently manage call campaigns and communication expectations, meeting deadlines and encouraging optimal student engagement (15%)
Regularly achieve or exceed the expected goals and objectives set with direct supervisor for performance, rapport building, customer service, and problem solving to support student enrollment (10%)
Conduct phone interviews with prospective students; evaluate and document the prospective student’s goals and qualifications while providing clear and accurate information about Miami, the program, accreditation, costs, and delivery mode (10%)
Develop working knowledge of Miami University programs, opportunities, and policies; communicate information about the Miami brand, experience, and outcomes, along with admission policies and procedures, to prospective students, stakeholders, and influencers, escalating questions and issues as needed. (5%)
Follow established policy and protocol, adhering to and complying with all state, federal and university policies regarding Title IV and accreditation rules related to student enrollment (5%)
Other duties as assigned (5%)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, or 4 years of work experience and education;
Excellent interpersonal skills, written, and verbal communication skills, organizational and planning skills;
Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently and part of team;
Appreciation for working with diverse populations;
Knowledge of and experience with computer systems and various software applications, especially Microsoft Office and Google suite.

Consideration may be given to candidates with professional, project management, sales, or recruitment experience, and familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
