Job Details

The Program Associate, Global Collaborations, will provide administrative, programmatic support, logistics, and coordination for Carey Business School’s activities in India. This position will assist with strategy execution to increase JHU Carey’s presence in India and Southeast Asia. The position will assist with market assessment, identifying target groups for MBA and MS programs, planning and coordination of Carey events and information sessions for prospective students; assist with outreach to prospective employers, university representatives, and companies interested in Carey educational offerings. The position will also provide logistics, administrative, and marketing support for expansion of Carey alumni community in India/Asia. The position will conduct outreach campaigns to build connections with universities in India. Additionally, the position will provide support with study-abroad events and new business development in key regions for Carey.

The position requires strong knowledge of higher education, and graduate business programs and services. excellent presentation and communication skills in English (knowledge of local languages is a plus); experience in working with universities and social media; attention to detail and excellent project management/planning skills; entrepreneurial spirit and thinking outside the box.

The Program Associate will be located in Mumbai or New Delhi, India, with a required travel (up to 70%). Off hours/weekends may be required to accommodate the school’s needs. The position will report to the Assistant Dean, Global Collaborations, and will work in close collaboration with Carey Office of Education, Career Development Office, Marketing, Admissions, and Alumni Relations.

Responsibilities and duties:

Program coordination and administration: 85%

  • Identifies opportunities to increase awareness of Carey Business School in Asia with primary focus on India. Develops leads for events, information sessions, and other activities targeted to prospective students.
  • Provides support with outreach to Indian universities. Collects and analyses data on higher education institutions in India and key markets in Southeast Asia.
  • Provides administrative support with planning and organizing Carey events in India.
  • Develops supporting materials for events and information sessions.
  • Provides logistics support for Carey staff travel within the region for outreach purposes.
  • Assists with execution of Career Development strategy for alumni from India.
  • Collects and organizes data related to Carey activities in India. Prepares updates and reports.
  • Develops leads for Carey business contacts, employers, and development prospects.
  • Collaborates with Carey Office of Education, Career Development Office, Admissions, and Alumni Relations on promotion and program activities.

Other duties: 15%

  • Participates in school-wide service initiatives.
  • Supports the school’s strategy for expanding into new markets.
  • Supports international students with the admissions, application process, and program questions. This position will support and provide recruitment and pre-enrollment services to foreign students residing in foreign countries only and who are not eligible to receive Federal student assistance from the United States.
  • Provide support to Carey faculty as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Program and project planning skills, self-starter, and ability to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of Carey Business School programs and services.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with social media including WhatsApp, Youtube, Facebook, and others.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to think outside the box.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent speaking, writing and reading skills in English (knowledge of local languages is a plus). Ability to create simple marketing/promotion materials (example: announcement or event description). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with different groups of constituents (prospective and current students, faculty, university leadership, employers in India, business contacts).
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent meeting and event planning and logistics skills. Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  • As a representative of Carey, presents professional and polished image.
  • Cross-cultural competence.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
