The Functional Business Analyst ( FBA ) in the Housing, Meal Plan and ID Card Service Center will assist with the maintenance of the Housing, Meal Plan and ID Card systems through configurations and updates. Systems include The Housing Director, Odyssey and My College Roomie. Oversee website-managed content with coordination from Hospitality and Promotions Manager and Marketing staff to meet the needs of the department. This position will identify and document procedures for internal auditing processes. The Functional Business Analyst will train staff in the department and end users of The Housing Director on use of new functionality in the system. This position will interact with other team members on projects to improve functionality of current processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of relevant work experience in higher education. Proficient with technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to participate and succeed in a team environment.
Job Specific Qualifications
Proficient with Microsoft Office, web management, multi-tasking, ability to meet deadlines, working on a team. Higher education experience working with students and parents preferred. Strong data analytic skills. Experience supporting functional area in enterprise systems where system related tasks include configure set up tables that control processes, test newly developed processes and maintain upgrades; create and test functional area specifications. Proven ability to analyze functional processes, identify process improvement opportunities to streamline operations, improve quality of data/information and improve customer satisfaction. Ability to develop, maintain software packages, act as a technology resource and technical trainer of computer systems, establish relationships with staff across the University, and effectively communicate technology concepts to users at all proficiency levels.
Responsibilities
System administration to include assisting in management of all aspects of The Housing Director ( THD ) software including all integrated systems and third-party applications used within the department such as My College Roomie, Conference Host, CBORD /ID Card, etc. Assist with administering HMPID system security by managing access for departmental and campus users. Analyze system issues and determine appropriate resolution for technical problems.
Assist with business process coordination and analysis for HMPID . Analyze, establish, and recommend administrative policies and business processes. Determine administrative technology needs and recommend changes to Associate Director of Technical Operations. Assist in developing and maintaining a departmental manual, including procedures and reviews which ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Provide periodic data quality control by reviewing, validating, and verifying data inputs in HMPID systems. Maintain reports for reconciliations and trend analysis including statistical information requested by senior leadership. Maintain a working knowledge of occupancy management and relevant information systems to develop system and process protocols including University billing and financial systems, configurations, and permissions.
Assist in training staff on all departmental systems. Coordinate and develop formalized written procedures and training documentation for each unit and functional process performed in a standardized format that is easily maintained. Plan, re-write, and update written information such as training guides as needed. Test and document new functions for training staff.
Serve as a department liaison to campus partners, including ITS, Data Systems and Auxiliary Services Business Office, to identify and analyze necessary business protocols. Facilitates software implementation meetings with project team and stakeholders.
