The Kirkpatrick Library at the University of Central Missouri is accepting applications for a non tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Instructor, The appointment will begin October 1, 2021.

The Subject Librarian Liaison “Education” is responsible for the development and promotion of library activities and services supporting the teaching, learning, and research needs of the campus community (i.e., students, faculty, and staff) including, but not limited to: teaching of information literacy/research skills in a variety of contexts, developing professional relationships, collaborating effectively with campus partners, and management of collections for UCM curricula and faculty research needs. It is expected that subject librarian liaisons actively engage in teamwork, shared governance, and pursue promotion activities.

Education & Formal Training Master's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training

• Master’s degree from an ALA -accredited program in library or information science or equivalent degree required.

• Completion of a second advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in the area of subject specialty or related field from an accredited institution of higher education preferred.

Computer Skills Experience

Preferred Experience:
• Minimum of one-year full-time equivalent academic library experience including some combined experience in providing research services, instruction (online and in person), developing online instructional tools (e.g., LibGuides, etc.).
• Experience managing collections in the subject liaison area(s).

• Ability to meet varying deadlines and duty priorities as required.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment as required. Effective written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills as required.
• Knowledge of and experience in related subject discipline(s) preferred.
