The Associate Director will provide leadership and direction on assigned programs and projects, ensuring that overall strategies and efforts align with and support the larger strategic vision, plans, and goals of the Office of Graduate Admission. Serving on the graduate admission team, the Associate Director will directly supervise full-time Admission Counselors and/or Assistant Directors who are responsible for contacting, supporting, and guiding prospective graduate students through to enrollment, focusing on the following key areas: inquiry to application conversions, admit to enroll conversions, and managing melt. This position will also develop and oversee training and skill development for admission staff to ensure accurate knowledge, excellent customer service, and adherence to guidelines while meeting enrollment goals. The position will be responsible for directing and evaluating assigned recruitment campaigns and initiatives, setting and monitoring staff performance and progress toward goals, and will provide ongoing assessment, management, and recommendations for senior admission leadership. The position also includes responsibility for an assigned student caseload and other general admission counseling duties such as individual student outreach, monitoring individual progress toward enrollment, and guiding students through the enrollment process. In addition, all positions are responsible for the understanding and upholding of Miami University’s and Enrollment Management and Student Success’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion statements, values and goals. This is a full-time, temporary position located in Oxford, Ohio, with the opportunity for a permanent placement.
Manage a team of admission counselors and/or assistant
directors; evaluate each team member’s performance against
established goals and expectations, while coaching, monitoring,
identifying performance gaps, and taking corrective action, as
needed (25%)
Direct and evaluate assigned recruitment campaigns and initiatives,
setting and monitoring staff performance and progress toward goals,
and provide ongoing assessment, management, and recommendations for
senior admission leadership. (20%)
Manage assigned student caseload through prospect relationship
management, leveraging partnerships, relationships, market
research, admission and enrollment data, and CRM system to maintain
consistent recruitment activity and increase prospective student
engagement to influence admission yield (20%)
Develop working knowledge of Miami University programs,
opportunities, and policies; communicate information about the
Miami brand, experience, and outcomes, along with admission
policies and procedures, to prospective students and stakeholders,
and act as a knowledge resource to team members, ensuring that they
have thorough and accurate information, and following up as needed
(10%)
Monitor, analyze and report performance metrics and graduate
enrollment trends to team members and members of management. Create
and implement team and individual training to ensure optimal
performance (5%)
Conduct and document regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with
direct reports to discuss performance, progress toward goals, and
develop plans for positively impacting enrollment trends, as needed
(5%)
Serve as the first resource for student questions and issues that
an admission counselor may escalate, ensuring timely and
appropriate resolution (5%)
Follow established policy and protocol, adhering to and complying
with all state, federal and university policies regarding Title IV
and accreditation rules related to student enrollment (5%)
Manage and ensure coverage during established operating hours
(5%)

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with experience in higher education,
recruitment, or marketing, and 3 years minimum experience working
in a sales or recruitment environment. Will consider a Master’s
degree and 2 years minimum experience.
Candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a
proven track record of maintaining and cultivating relationships
with key internal and external constituents.
Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills,
group presentation skills, and a proven ability to work with
diverse constituencies; candidate must demonstrate expertise and/or
experience with marketing or communication efforts.
Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks
simultaneously.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer systems and
various software applications.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Higher Education or comparable
discipline
Strong working knowledge of adult learner recruitment
Prior experience and knowledge of Slate or another admission
CRM
Supervisory experience
