West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Radiology seek a Chief of Nuclear Medicine. The Division of Nuclear Medicine and PET Imaging is seeking an individual with an excellent nuclear medicine background and working experience in all facets of nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging, including oncology, cardiology and neurology protocols. Experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy is desired as the Division is very active in conventional and new therapies for thyroid cancer, lymphoma, neuroendocrine tumors, prostate, and other. The Division works closely with the Neurosciences and Heart and Vascular Institutes. Resources include state of the art PET/CT, SPECT/CT and gamma camera equipment and associated computer hardware and software platforms for dedicated nuclear medicine processing and advanced computational analysis, as well as an on-site cyclotron.

The Radiology Department is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging. We promote, develop and integrate advances in imaging technology and imaging-based therapeutic procedures to complement the clinical, educational and research missions of WVU. We have a growing outreach imaging program covering several hospitals in the tri-state area. Facility and imaging equipment is of the highest quality with outstanding clinical infrastructure in place. The department boasts a highly successful, federally funded PET instrumentation research team.

The successful candidate will be the clinical, operational and academic leader of the Division. Our thriving academic environment is changing rapidly to meet the challenges of West Virginia and value-based care. At least 5 years of experience post training is required. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. The successful candidate will practice in the area of diagnostic and nuclear radiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, a Certificate of Added Qualifications or Board Certification in Nuclear Radiology (ABR), and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a radiology residency program.
