Research Coordinator II
This position is located in the Department of Health Outcomes & Biomedical Informatics and serves as a Research Coordinator II. The position will function as a research coordinator for faculty members involved in the Social Interactions for Tobacco Prevention project, under the supervision of Dr. Georges Khalil. This includes monitoring and coordinating project activities under supervision of the principal investigator.
Responsibilities to include:
Preparation of reports and IRB applications. This includes the development of progress reports of funded research projects, and the development of IRB research protocol, consent forms, flyers, and other documents for IRB.
Facilitation of research operations and day-to-day management of research projects in coordination with the PI. This includes communication with study-related faculty and staff, sponsors, collaborators, and other stakeholders, including research participants and community partners. Work with practices to recruit participants into respective studies. Create and monitor project timelines and deadlines. Project duties require driving between research participant sites.
Facilitation of grant management. This includes assisting with budget and budget justification preparation, biosketches, other support, CAS exemptions, RPPR, and other pre- and post-award operations.
Collection and coordination of data in clinical and/or community settings as appropriate to project needs, via means such as phone and in-person interviews and surveys. Coordinating dataset/database management, data quality control and safety, data analysis, synthesis, and interpretation. Participate in data organization, cleaning, and management.
Communication with affiliated faculty and team members; external faculty and staff at collaborating institutions; and other external constituencies.
Preparation, monitoring, and processing of budgets and expense reports. Submit and monitor all fiscal forms and reports. Work closely with department fiscal team regarding project budgets.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master's degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, or related fields.
- Experience in health outcomes/health services research and data management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail, particularly with regard to data accuracy and integrity.
- Experience implementing a randomized controlled trial
- Experience performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Good working knowledge of a data analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS or STATA).
- Ability to interpret basic statistical results.
