Coordinator - Veteran Student Success

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
Working directly with the Director of the Veteran Success Center, assist in the development and implementation of practices to improve student completion. Position will lead and assist with completion projects, utilize predictive analytics, conduct research, write proposals, prepare reports and presentations, and work on a variety of completion initiatives. Oversees the setup and teardown of conferences, meetings and events scheduled through campus Event Services.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus 1 year of staff level experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of university policies, programs, procedures.
  • Knowledge of university course schedules, course curriculum, and general degree and graduation
    requirements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Knowledge of the impact of culture and military service on learning.
  • Skills in verbal and written communication, effective for students, faculty, administrators and other campus staff.
  • Skills in de-escalation and conflict resolution.
  • Skills in attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability and desire to provide customized service to veterans, their spouses, and dependents.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and apply data to improve student success and retention.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member as well as work independently in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with maturity, professional demeanor, initiative, tact, diplomacy, and a sense of humor.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and to change priorities as needs arise.
  • Ability to develop goals for personal performance/development and attain office performance metrics.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to build collaboration with public and private institutions.
